Teddy Bear Affair at Jacksonville Zoo Gives Children a Chance to Take Their Toys to the Doctor

Jacksonville, Fla. (Feb. 1, 2022) -- Nemours Children's Health recently held the Teddy Bear Affair at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. The annual event allows children the chance to take their favorite stuffed animal toy to visit medical specialists at Nemours.

The event teaches children about the importance of doctor checkups, good health and wellness, said Gary Josephson, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Nemours Children's Health, Jacksonville.

Nemours Children's specialists gave care for sick or injured stuffed animals, including X-rays, eye exams, casts for broken bones and surgery to repair holes in their teddy bears.

Downloadable video interviews are available.
