Nemours Children’s Health Announces Martha McGill as Chief Administrative Officer of Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida
McGill also takes on new leadership role as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Nemours Florida Operations

Orlando, Fla. (December 6, 2021) -- Nemours Children’s Health, one of the nation's largest multistate pediatric health systems, announced Martha McGill, MHA, MBA, who serves as the system’s Senior Vice President of Network Operations for Florida, has taken on a new leadership role as Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer for all Florida operations and Chief Administrative Officer of Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida. As one of the largest nonprofit organizations devoted to children's health, Nemours continues to attract, nurture and promote top talent to bolster the healthcare system’s innovation-driven approach to improving the health and spirit of every child.

McGill began as a pediatric nurse and then served in clinical leadership and operations roles throughout her three-decade career.  McGill brings a deep understanding and wide scope of expertise to this expanded role at Nemours. “I've spent the last 35 years working in children’s hospitals. It’s been my life’s passion, and I am looking forward to supporting Nemours Children’s Hospital’s continued growth as well as improving the lives of the children,” said Martha McGill, Senior Vice President, Nemours Children’s Health Chief Operating Officer for Florida Network Operations and Chief Administrative Officer of Nemours Children’s Hospital.

An established name in the Central Florida and Florida Panhandle pediatric landscapes, Nemours continues to build its presence in underserved regions, further solidifying its commitment to children’s health both in the communities served and beyond.  McGill will utilize her community partnership experience to lead Florida operations.

Prior to joining Nemours in 2015, McGill served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH). Under her leadership, MCH was the only children’s hospital in Florida ranked in all 10 pediatric subspecialty categories by U.S. News & World Report. She joined MCH from a post as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. There she led the development of the service line structure and strategy for growing cardiology, hematology/oncology, and solid organ transplant programs, which became among the largest programs of their kind in the nation.

McGill began her pediatric nursing career in the state of Georgia, where she was born and raised. Deeply rooted in her faith and desire to instill a sense of hope in others, she has compassionately served and cared for children and families in her local communities, as well as provided sound leadership during her time on the Georgia Board of Nursing. She vividly recalls knowing she wanted to become a nurse at age 13. Even at an early age, growing up on a farm surrounded by her supportive family, she recognized her life’s purpose was to help improve the lives and well-being of children and has been wholeheartedly committed to doing so ever since.
