Children Help Nemours Children’s Specialty Care Officially Open New Facility

Pensacola, Fla. – Families in Pensacola will now see the Nemours pediatric specialists they have come to know and trust in a brand new location. Two very special patients helped to cut the ribbon and officially welcome patients and families into the brand-new location of Nemours Children’s Specialty Care.

The new 33,000-square-foot, family-friendly location of Nemours Children’s Specialty Care is off North Davis Highway, on the campus of West Florida Healthcare. The site offers 11 pediatric specialties by physicians and caregivers who are specifically trained to care for children, in an environment that is designed especially for their needs.

The new location offers same-day orthopedic appointments, performs onsite newborn circumcisions, includes two audiology booths, is one of the only locations in the Gulf Coast region who can perform onsite pediatric manometry testing, and includes two digital radiology rooms that allow for faster, more accurate imaging with less radiology exposure for the patient. Nemours is the only organization the region who also has a team of radiologists specifically trained to read pediatric images.

Pediatric specialties that families can access at Nemours Children’s Specialty Care, Pensacola include:

  • Audiology
  • Cardiology
  • Endocrinology
  • Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose & Throat)
  • Gastroenterology
  • Nephrology
  • Orthopedics
  • Pulmonology (including Sleep Medicine)
  • Rheumatology
  • Radiology including Ultrasound
  • Urology

“The journey to the West Florida campus represents so much more than moving a specialty care practice. It is a fresh start and an opportunity to serve more children in the Gulf Coast region with a partner that has served Northwest Florida for more than 40 years with similar values and mirrors our own commitment to quality and safety,” said Mary Mehta, MD, Pediatric Cardiologist and Chief Medical Officer of Nemours Children’s Specialty Care.
