Pensacola, Fla. (January 12, 2023) – Nemours Children’s Health has announced the recruitment of Thomas Babcock, MD, as a neurotologist specializing in disorders related to the ear including procedures for hearing loss such as cochlear implantation, to our Otolaryngology Division in Pensacola. He joins Nemours Children’s from Baptist Medical Group in Pensacola. Dr. Babcock is currently seeing patients at Nemours Children’s Health’s Pensacola clinic located at 8331 North Davis Highway.
Dr. Babcock is looking forward to focusing on the fulfilling mission of pediatric care and the atmosphere that often goes along with it.
“I am excited to get back to focusing on what I love to do,” said Dr. Babcock. “Kids have the ability to bring a certain lightness to situations that aren’t always so light.”
Dr. Babcock is excited to grow his practice not only in Pensacola, but throughout the region through Nemours Children’s satellite offices in Northwest Florida. Children with complex ear cases often need continued, dedicated care.
Dr. Babcock recognized the need for this specialty care in his hometown of Pensacola and throughout the Panhandle after training at tertiary care centers and larger metropolitan areas in Florida and wanted to return to Pensacola to serve his community. With Dr. Babcock’s extensive training and the expertise of other physicians in the Nemours Children’s Health network, he hopes to provide families with a collaborative and inclusive support.
“The addition of Dr. Babcock works to further enhance the growing division of otolaryngology services at Nemours to better serve the needs of children across the Panhandle and Gulf Coast Region,” said Mary Mehta, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Nemours Children’s Health, Pensacola.
Dr. Babcock attained his bachelor’s degree from Rollins College and went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine degree at Florida State University. After medical school, he completed a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, and completed a fellowship in Otology, Neurotology, and Lateral Skull Base Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Health System in Miami.
Dr. Babcock returned to his hometown of Pensacola in 2017. He currently resides on Pensacola Beach with his wife, Hunter, and son, Wilder.
