Nemours Children’s Health Adds New Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon in Lakeland

Orlando, Fla. (Nov. 3, 2022) – Nemours Children’s Health has announced the recruitment of Azlyn Goff, MD, as a new pediatric orthopedic surgeon. A native of Puerto Rico, Dr. Goff moved to Melbourne, Florida, at age 4, where she grew up.

“It’s been a dream to come back to Florida and help children,” said Dr. Goff, who said even at a young age, she knew she wanted to be “like a mechanic for people.” Children, she says, are the perfect patients, because “they just want to get better, recover well, and get on with being kids.”

She will be seeing patients at partner hospital Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center in addition to Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida, in the Lake Nona neighborhood of Orlando.

“Nemours Children’s Health is building up our capabilities to see more patients in the Lakeland area,” said John F. Lovejoy, MD, Chair of the department of orthopedics at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida. “With Dr. Goff’s arrival, we will improve access to advanced pediatric orthopedic care for families in that community.”

Dr. Goff attained her bachelor’s degree at Florida State University, and went on to earn her Doctor of Medicine degree at New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y. After medical school, she completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. More recently, Dr. Goff did a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

Dr. Goff has relocated to Lakeland with her spouse and young son.
