Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida selects its Chief Radiologist as new Chief Medical Officer

Orlando, Fla. (July 14, 2022) -- Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida has announced that Daniel Podberesky, M.D., who rose to become the hospital’s Radiologist-in-Chief since joining Nemours in 2014, will serve as the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for the hospital and will oversee specialty care in Orlando for Nemours Children's Health, effective immediately. For the past 15 months, Dr. Podberesky has served as associate chief medical officer.

In his role as CMO, Dr. Podberesky will provide oversight of both the Nemours specialty care practice and medical operations for the hospital, which will celebrate its 10th anniversary in October. 

“With his progressive professional experience leading organization transformation, Dr. Podberesky is well prepared to lead our talented physician team in Orlando,” said Michael Erhard, M.D., Executive Vice President and Physician-in-Chief of Florida Operations. “Dr. Podberesky’s continued dedication and leadership will be vital as our Orlando hospital enters its second decade of creating the healthiest generations of children.”

When he joined Nemours in 2014 , Dr. Podberesky was a highly accomplished board certified general pediatric radiologist, as well as an Air Force Veteran. Prior to Nemours, he served as associate director of Clinical Services and chief of the Division of Thoracoabdominal Imaging at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

Dr. Podberesky has been instrumental in leading the way to integrate the Nemours Children’s Radiology team across the multistate health system, which is currently one of the largest and busiest pediatric radiology departments in the country. In 2019, he completed the General Management Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and is currently a professor of radiology at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine.

Dr. Podberesky will remain an active Nemours Children’s radiologist and continue in his role as enterprise radiologist-in-chief until a successor is named.
