JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 10, 2025) – Nemours Children’s Health, one of the nation’s largest multistate pediatric health systems, announced today the promotion of Aaron Carpenter, DNP, MDiv, APRN, CPNP-PC, NEA-BC to North Florida President. Carpenter most recently served as Senior Vice President, Chief Nursing and Patient Operations Officer, Nemours Children’s Health, Delaware Valley.

Carpenter, who joined Nemours Children’s Health in 2016, will replace previous North Florida Region President Michael Erhard, who retired in 2024, to lead the Jacksonville and Pensacola areas.
Prior to entering clinical and operations leadership roles, Carpenter served as a pediatric nurse practitioner in primary care and emergency medicine for more than 20 years. In previous leadership roles, he created leadership infrastructure and a leadership development program for advanced practice providers, led efforts to advance scholarly contributions in nursing and patient care services and created the only pediatric primary care nurse practitioner fellowship in the country, which launched in 2017.
He earned his bachelor's degree from Sacred Heart University, a master's degree from Yale University, a master’s degree from Trinity Anglican Seminary, and a doctor of nursing practice degree from Robert Morris University. He is board certified in pediatrics through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.
