Nemours Children’s Health Honored with Community Outreach Award by Orange County Public Schools

Orlando, Fla (March 30, 2022) – At a ceremony held March 25, Orange County Public Schools honored representatives from Nemours Children’s Health with a Crystal Award as a “Partner in Education” for community outreach.

The award recognizes several connections between Nemours and the Orange County Public School System. On hand to accept  the award was Martha Santoni, Program Manager for Government Relations in Central Florida, and Lisa Spector, MD, Developmental Medicine Specialist.

“In OCPS, Nemours sees a partner that supports the same population, Orange County’s children, age 0-18 years old, and their families,” said Santoni. “Through efforts such as training school health providers to serving on the Medical Advisory Committee and participating on the OCPS Career and Workforce Career Advisory Board, and instructing on hand-on preparation for students in CPR, Nemours Children’s Health strengthens the community connection between student- and family-centered care for the whole child.”

By combining expertise, Nemours values the collaboration with OCPS, which improves the health of our community, she added.
