Media Alert for Virtual Event 9/28 at 6 p.m.: Nemours Children’s Health Specialists to Offer Families Webinar On “What Parents Need to Know about the COVID-19 Vaccine for Children”

WHO / WHAT:  With news from Pfizer that data from its clinical trials on children 5 to 11 will soon go before the FDA for approval, Nemours Children’s Health specialists including Thomas Lacy, M.D., Medical Director, Primary Care, Florida;  Kenneth Alexander, M.D., Chief of Infectious Disease;  Lonna Gordon, M.D., Chief of Adolescent Medicine, will discuss how parents can prepare their child for getting the vaccine, the science behind the vaccine, and why getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself and your children from COVID-19. With the dangers of the Delta variant impacting children’s health, Nemours providers will also share strategies for families to help children cope with COVID-19 anxiety, and tips for having tough conversations with family and friends who are still unsure about getting vaccinated.

We also know that the COVID-19 vaccine is our best hope to end the ongoing pandemic. That’s why Nemours Children's Health is hosting another webinar to discuss the dangers of the Delta variant and the importance of getting vaccinated.
