Wilmington, DE - Nemours Children’s Health is pleased to announce the addition of two physicians to the Division of Neurology at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. Rodney C. Scott, MBChB, PhD, has joined as the Division Chief of Neurology and Lily H. Tran, MD as attending pediatric neurologist and Director of EEG.
Dr. Scott comes to Nemours from the University of Vermont Medical Center where he was professor and Vice Chair of Neurological Sciences. Dr. Scott obtained his medical degree at the University of Zimbabwe and his PhD at the University of London. He trained in pediatric neurology at UCL Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Dr. Scott’s specialty is treating epilepsy in children. As a member of the International League Against Epilepsy, Dr. Scott has made significant contributions to the understanding of severe epilepsies in children with his ongoing research to provide important data that will ultimately be transferred into clinical practice. His investigations are aimed at improving outcomes and reducing developmental and cognitive impairments faced by these children and families.
At Nemours, Dr. Scott’s goal is to build and lead an internationally competitive, multidisciplinary research group with a major interest in the characterization and mechanisms of adverse outcomes associated with childhood epilepsy.
Dr. Tran is a graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and has completed pediatric residency training and child neurology fellowship at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio, followed by a clinical neurophysiology fellowship at University Hospitals, Cleveland. Dr. Tran is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with Special Qualifications in Child Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy.
Prior to joining Nemours, Dr. Tran was Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California-Irvine and Director of the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), Calif. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Epilepsy Society, Child Neurology Society and American Clinical Neurophysiology Society. Dr. Tran actively publishes and lectures. Her primary clinical and research interest is in epilepsy, including epilepsy surgery.
