Jacksonville, Fla. (September 26, 2019) – For the second year in a row, Nemours Children’s Health System has been recognized for providing one of the country’s best workforce health and employee well-being programs.
The National Business Group on Health (NBGH), a nonprofit association consisting of more than 440 of the largest employers in the U.S., honored Nemours with the 2019 Excellence in Health and Well-Being platinum award for excellence in improving the health and well-being of associates, at a special event in San Diego.
“I am extremely proud of this national recognition and fully support Nemours actively promoting and encouraging the health and well-being of our Associates,” said Dr. Larry Moss, President and CEO of Nemours Children’s Health System. “By taking better care of yourself, you can take better care of the patients and families we serve.”
The NBGH reviews and honors 50 companies for their commitment to well-being as integral to their workforce strategy each year. “Companies worldwide are embracing a holistic, employee-centric approach to well-being to deploy the most engaged, productive and competitive workforce possible,” said Brian Marcotte, President and CEO of NBGH. Nemours was among the 19 organizations who have recognized a connection between workforce well-being and key business outcomes and implemented a strategy with demonstrated results across several dimensions of well-being.
This latest recognition is due to year-over-year participation of associates in the YOURHealth and Wellness Program, and commitment to better health and improved results. Nemours currently has 7,205 unique participants (Associates and Physicians) in the 2019 YOURHealth and Wellness program.
In 2017, Nemours was named one of the Healthiest 100 by Heathiest Employers. In 2016, Nemours earned the Gold level Well Workplace Award from the Wellness Council of America.
