Anne E. Kazak, PhD, ABPP, has been named the recipient of the 2017 Philadelphia Society of Clinical Psychologists (PSCP) Significant Contributions to the Profession of Psychology and to Humanity Award. Dr. Kazak was selected on the basis of her regional and national leadership in integrated behavioral health, her extensive research and publishing, her efforts in the area of pediatric traumatic stress, and her clinical work with children, teens and their families.
Dr. Edward DiCesare, Chair of the PSCP Awards Committee, presentedthe award to Dr. Kazak at the PSCP Annual Banquet, April 30, 2017. Dr. Gail Karafin, PSCP President, stated, "We are honored to give this award to our colleague in recognition of her outstanding career and service to the field of psychology and to the community."
Dr. Kazak is Co-Director of the Nemours Center for Healthcare Delivery Science, a research center across the Nemours Children’s Health System. She is based at Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE. Dr. Kazak also co-directs the Center for Pediatric Traumatic Stress in the National Child Traumatic Stress Network.
In addition, Dr. Kazak is distinguished as the editor-in-chief of American Psychologist, the flagship journal of the American Psychological Association. She previously edited the Journal of Pediatric Psychology, the Journal of Family Psychology and Health Psychology.
Dr. Kazak, who lives in Havertown, PA, is a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania and Delaware, professor of pediatrics at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, and adjunct professor of psychology at the University of Delaware. A graduate of Smith College, Dr. Kazak received her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Virginia and completed her internship training at Yale University School of Medicine.
