Dyane Bunnell, MSN, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nemours Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (NCCBD), was named the Certified Pediatric Oncology Nurse of the Year (CPON®). As recipient of this national award, Bunnell is recognized for her outstanding contributions to the field of pediatric oncology nursing.
Bunnell has been a registered nurse for 35 years and with Nemours since 2004. Her leadership and commitment to professional development have enhanced nursing at Nemours and the spectrum of care for hematology, oncology and stem cell transplant patients at Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. Bunnell has participated at both the regional and national levels in APHON (Association of Pediatric Oncology Nurses) and has been a force in promoting the professional development of pediatric specialty nurses. By ensuring standards of knowledge, skills, and abilities in specialty practice, her efforts have contributed to high quality care and better patient outcomes for the children served by duPont Hospital.
