JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 18, 2026) – Wolfson Children’s Hospital, Northeast Florida’s only specialty children’s hospital, and Nemours Children’s Health, one of the nation’s largest multistate pediatric health systems, today celebrated a major expansion of their longstanding clinical collaboration to ensure children in the region have access to specialized expertise close to home.
Working Together So Kids Do Better
Beginning in March 2026, Nemours Children’s expert physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) will provide care for additional inpatient and ambulatory specialties at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, strengthening integrated, multidisciplinary care for children and ensuring more seamless transitions between clinic visits, hospitalization and ongoing treatment. This will include the following specialties:
Starting in August 2026, Nemours Children’s will also offer Genetics for Wolfson Children’s.
In addition, Nemours Children’s will open new outpatient clinics across the region, including offices for NICU follow-up and Medically Complex Care.
“Throughout its 70-year history, Wolfson Children’s Hospital has grown into a specialty children’s network with national recognition, building a strong foundation that allows us to further elevate care for our community’s children,” said Allegra C. Jaros, MBA, President, Wolfson Children’s Hospital. “By expanding our collaboration with Nemours Children’s Health and having their providers work as an integrated part of our care team, we are ensuring that families across our region have greater access to world-class pediatric expertise right here in Jacksonville.”
“As locally headquartered organizations deeply invested in the well-being of children in North Florida and South Georgia, we share a vision for providing top quality, accessible specialty care,” said Nemours Children’s North Florida President Aaron Carpenter, DNP, MDiv, APRN, CPNP-PC, NEA-BC. “This expanded agreement brings together the strengths of two leading pediatric institutions to deliver comprehensive, coordinated care that improves outcomes for children with both routine and highly complex conditions.”
Expanding a Trusted Clinical Collaboration
This expanded collaboration mirrors the model Wolfson Children’s Hospital and Nemours Children’s Health have successfully executed for decades across many specialties including general surgery, hematology/oncology, orthopedics, trauma surgery and urology. Together, they work closely to provide cohesive, high-quality care — combining Wolfson Children’s role as the region’s only children’s hospital with Nemours Children’s national expertise in specialty outpatient and inpatient pediatric care.
As part of a joint operating agreement and expanded relationship launched in 2025, Nemours Children’s began operating outpatient cardiology clinics in the region and providing cardiology services at Wolfson Children’s Hospital. This alignment allows care teams to work side by side across the full continuum of heart care, from diagnosis through intervention and follow-up.
