Nemours Children’s Health Breaks Ground on Multi-specialty Care Location in Brevard County
The new facility will open in summer of 2027 and offer approximately two dozen pediatric services, expanding access and convenience for children and families.
Breaking ground on this new location is an exciting milestone in our quest to elevate care for children and families in Melbourne and the surrounding community. With Central Florida’s only specialty licensed children’s hospital, and as a leader in pediatric healthcare, Nemours Children’s is bringing world-class care closer to children and families, which reflects our commitment to improving the health and well-being of those we serve.


MELBOURNE, Fla. (April 16, 2026) – Leaders, clinicians and associates from Nemours Children’s Health were joined today by local residents, elected officials and healthcare advocates as they broke ground on Nemours Children’s Health, Viera, a new 34,000 square-foot multi-specialty care facility in Melbourne.

“Breaking ground on this new location is an exciting milestone in our quest to elevate care for children and families in Melbourne and the surrounding community,” said Martha McGill, BSN, MBA, MHA, Central Florida Region President of Nemours Children’s Health. “With Central Florida’s only specialty licensed children’s hospital, and as a leader in pediatric healthcare, Nemours Children’s is bringing world-class care closer to children and families, which reflects our commitment to improving the health and well-being of those we serve.”

Nemours Children’s Health, Viera, will be located in the medical plaza off Stadium Parkway between Napolo Drive and N. Wickham Road in Melbourne. The facility will be staffed by a team of skilled pediatric healthcare professionals and offer primary, specialty and urgent care services. Available services and specialties will also include:

Heather Kasicki, a local resident, whose nine-year-old son has been a cardiology patient of Nemours Children’s since he was a baby, was in attendance at the groundbreaking and expressed her jubilation about the additional convenience and access to services that the new location will bring to children and families in the area.

“When your child needs to be seen by a doctor, being close to where your child will be cared for means the world to me,” said Kasicki. “With the new Nemours Children’s Health, Viera, location on the way, I am so excited. Everyone is so excited about this.”

With construction set to officially begin this summer, Nemours Children’s Health, Viera is expected to open in the summer of 2027.
