On August 6, Nemours Children’s Health made the commitment to our patients, families, and associates to require COVID-19 vaccinations for all associates as term of employment. As a health care organization that treats the most vulnerable children, many of whom are not eligible for vaccination, it was the right thing to do.
October 6th was the deadline for all Nemours Children’s associates to either receive the vaccine or an approved exemption. Resignations from associates who chose not to receive the COVID-19 vaccine resulted in the departure of only 127 associates, enterprise wide.
At Nemours Children’s patient care is always our highest priority, and our patients and families can be confident that they are receiving not only the best care, but the safest. We are appreciative of all our associates that took the necessary steps to be in compliance. Vaccination continues to be our path not only to protect each other—but to ultimately reduce the spread of COVID-19 and end this pandemic.
