ORLANDO, Fla. (Nov. 11, 2025) – Nemours Children’s Health has dedicated the Ginsburg Family Gardens at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida, honoring philanthropist Alan H. Ginsburg for his long- standing support of children’s health. The dedication recognizes a $25 million gift from the Ginsburg Family Foundation, which helped create the Ginsburg Institute at Nemours Children’s Health in 2021 to improve the health and well-being of children across Central Florida.
“At Nemours, our focus is on Whole Child Health—supporting children physically, emotionally, and socially,” said R. Lawrence Moss, MD, FACS, FAAP, President and CEO of Nemours Children’s Health. “Alan Ginsburg’s generosity is a driving force behind this critical work. Because of his vision, generations of children in Central Florida and beyond will have greater opportunities to thrive.”
At the center of the Ginsburg Family Gardens is a stunning 33-foot sculpture of a young elephant holding an umbrella. Created by world-renowned artist and Lake Nona resident JEFRË, who has created site-specific artworks in cities across the country and globe, including London, Manila, Abu Dhabi, Miami, and Orlando, the sculpture symbolizes care, protection, and community support for children.
“I am very proud of my family's investment in Nemours Children’s work,” said Ginsburg, Chairman of the Ginsburg Family Foundation. “I strongly believe in the Nemours Whole Child Health model of doing as much as we can to keep kids out of the hospital and in a safe home setting as we build healthier communities. I look forward to the continued positive outcomes that we have seen thus far.”
Launched in 2022, the Ginsburg Institute was created to provide leadership, forge important community partnerships, and create innovative programs to improve the health and lives of children in Central Florida. The Ginsburg Institute has been a powerful conduit for collaboration across the region, facilitating numerous partnerships and starting the Children's Health Collaborative, a consortium of more than 100 organizations working together to enhance the health and well-being of children.
The Ginsburg Institute has supported more than 130 partnerships focusing on mental health, healthy food and nutrition, quality education, and economic stability. The Institute hosts its Child Health Symposium in Orlando each year, bringing together hundreds of stakeholders from the healthcare, community nonprofit, education, and public policy sectors to develop community-based strategies and solutions to close physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being gaps impacting children.
“The sculpture and gardens are powerful reminders of how lives can truly be changed when philanthropy and purpose-driven organizations come together behind a common goal,” said Nancy Molello, Executive Director of the Ginsburg Institute at Nemours Children’s Health. “What we have been able to do in Central Florida in just three years to reshape what’s possible for some of the most vulnerable children in our community will reverberate for many years to come. We are grateful to Alan Ginsburg and the Ginsburg Family Foundation for their unwavering support, trust, and commitment to children’s health and well-being.
