Nemours Children’s Hospital Infectious Disease Doctors Honored among District Partners of the Year by Osceola County Schools
The involvement and support of our Partners in Education allow our school district to provide a world-class education to students, as well as enhance their academic success," said Osceola County Schools Superintendent Dr. Debra Pace.

Orlando, Fla. (May 17, 2021) – At a recent ceremony, Nemours Children’s Hospital specialists Dr. Kenneth Alexander, who serves as Chief of Infectious Diseases and Dr. Adriana Cadilla, were honored by the Osceola County School Board and Superintendent Dr. Debra Pace among the District Partners of the Year.

The Nemours Infectious Disease doctors were recognized for being “a boundless source of information as the Osceola School District has moved through uncharted territory with COVID-19,” said the Osceola Schools citation. Both doctors met frequently with the Superintendent, School Board members, and other district leaders to educate them on the latest scientific research and data surrounding children and the spread of the coronavirus.

Dr. Alexander and Dr. Cadilla also devoted time to sit on the district’s Back to School Task Force to lend their expertise as the district was developing clear, workable strategies for reopening schools safely as the new school year got underway.

"The involvement and support of our Partners in Education allow our school district to provide a world-class education to students, as well as enhance their academic success," said Superintendent Pace.  "The businesses and organizations recognized today serve as a model for how the community and a school system can form strategic partnerships that work in support of students and schools as we become stronger together."

“I commend the Osceola Schools District and the School Board for putting the importance of schools, safety and science at the forefront of decision-making during the pandemic,” said Dr. Kenneth Alexander while accepting the award.
