Nemours Hosting 3rd Annual Day of Giving to Support Patients and Families in Jacksonville

Jacksonville, Fla. (April 19, 2021) -- Nemours Children’s Health System is hosting its 3rd Annual Day of Giving on Monday, April 26, from 7-10 a.m. and 5-7 p.m. on WJXT Channel 4.  During that time on the air, phones will be staffed to take donations to support a variety of programs that help patient care at Nemours Children’s Specialty Care, Jacksonville.

The 3rd Annual Day of Giving will help Jacksonville-area children by funding patient care and programs not covered by insurance, critically needed research, as well as patient and family support funds. Each year, Nemours cares for nearly 84,000 children at its Jacksonville-area clinics. Nemours is hoping to reach its Day of Giving goal of $75,000 in order to help as many children and their families as possible.

“A not-for-profit organization, Nemours Children’s Health System covers roughly $24 million each year in medical services for children who are uninsured or underinsured,” said Maggie Hightower, Director of Fund Development for Nemours. “With our 3rd Annual Day of Giving, Nemours hopes to raise funds to benefit patient and family support funds for the neediest in our community, as well as research.”

In addition to its excellent pediatric specialty care services, Nemours has provided additional support to the northeast Florida community throughout the pandemic: COVID-19 testing, flexible options for virtual care, and patient advice regarding schools, masking and vaccines.

Nemours would like to thank our 3rd Annual Day of Giving partners: Vystar Credit Union, Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation, Ruckus, and H. Stephen Jones and Associates.
