New practice joins Nemours Children’s Specialty Care at 1717 S. Orange Ave. in Downtown Orlando
Since long before Nemours Children’s Hospital opened in Orlando in 2012 there have been Nemours pediatric specialists caring for children at 1717 S. Orange Avenue in downtown Orlando. This week, Nemours’ history comes full circle with the opening of its newest pediatric primary care practice in the building where its Central Florida history began. Nemours Children’s Primary Care opens on January 17, 2018 in a bright and cheerful suite of offices on the second floor of the 1717 Building.
"While every new opportunity to improve the health of children is a reason to celebrate, this practice has felt like it was meant to be since our earliest conversations about how best to serve families who live and work in Downtown Orlando," said Dr. Thomas Lacy, Division Chief of Primary and Urgent Care in Florida. "Interestingly, this is Nemours’ 17th primary care practice, it’s located at 1717 S. Orange Avenue, and it’s opening on January 17. Everything just seemed to naturally align. We couldn’t be more delighted to join our colleagues at this storied building and to make it easier for families to get their child’s primary and specialty care in one convenient location."
Dr. Michelle Tellado, a board-certified pediatrician, will lead a team of Nemours professionals in providing medical care to children of all ages, from newborns to adolescents. Parents can turn to the practice for a wide variety of medical services, including newborn care, well-child care, immunizations and school physicals, as well as treatment for illnesses and injuries and management of chronic medical conditions. Like Nemours’ other primary care practices, Nemours Children’s Primary Care, Downtown Orlando is a nationally certified Patient-Centered Medical Home.
