Orlando, Fla. (Dec. 10. 2020) -- Kenneth Alexander, MD, PhD, chief of infectious diseases at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando, is available to discuss the upcoming authorization of COVID-19 vaccines, including the distribution prioritization strategy within the multi-state health system.
Throughout the pandemic, Dr. Alexander and his colleagues have been providing communities with the science known about COVID-19 to support decision-making in the school environment. This includes leading development and dissemination of statewide school reopening recommendation for school administrators and teachers; serving on several schools’ re-opening task forces; and authoring guidelines grounded in science for pediatricians to use to educate parents about considerations when choosing in-person or virtual school.
Dr. Alexander has recently been recognized by Heart of Florida United Way as Change Maker of the Year for his leadership in educating Florida about COVID-19.
