Nemours Expands in Indian River County

Families in Indian River County now have greater access to Nemours Children’s Health System through a new primary care practice in the area. Nemours Children’s Primary Care, Vero Beach opened its doors on August 1st.

Dr. Laura Johnson and Dr. Karen Westberry, both board-certified pediatricians, will provide pediatric medical care to children of all ages, from newborns to adolescents.  Services provided include well-child care, immunizations, school physicals and newborn care, as well as treatment for illnesses and injuries and management of chronic medical conditions. Parents can also turn to the practice for ADD/ADHD evaluations and help with behavioral and developmental concerns.  Like Nemours’ other primary care practices, Nemours Children’s Primary Care, Vero Beach is a certified Patient-Centered Medical Home.

"We are delighted to welcome Dr. Johnson, Dr. Westberry and their staffs to the Nemours family," said Dr. Thomas Lacy, medical director for Nemours Children’s Primary Care.  "Both of these pediatricians are well-known and well respected in the community, having practiced here for many years. By joining Nemours they will be able to offer their patients the same exceptional care they’ve always offered, while also providing seamless access to Nemours services and pediatric specialists."

Nemours Children’s Primary Care, Vero Beach is located at 840 37th Place, Suite 1N in Vero Beach. The office can be reached by calling (772) 978-9000.

Nemours Children’s Primary Care, Vero Beach is the second Nemours primary care practice in Vero Beach — it joins Nemours Children’s Primary Care, Island Pediatrics — and is the 15th Nemours Children’s Primary Care location in Central Florida.  Nemours is an award-winning, nationally respected non-profit children’s health system recognized for delivering exceptional pediatric health care, research, technological innovation and health education.  Nemours also operates six Nemours Children’s Urgent Care centers, 19 Nemours Children’s Specialty Care satellite locations, and Nemours CareConnect, the country’s first pediatric telehealth app. Nemours Children’s Hospital opened in Orlando’s Lake Nona Medical City in October 2012.
